We’ve never liked Bobby Beale.
Ever since the little murderer bumped off his sister Lucy (Hetti Bywater), we’ve just known he’d strike again.
Over the past few months, EastEnders viewers have watched as Bobby has become more and more vicious - even going so far as to push his loving mum Jane (Laurie Brett) down the stairs.
And it’s all been bubbling up to a truly explosive Christmas Day episode.
The festive drama will kick off as hostilities between killer Bobby Beale and Sharon Mitchell (Letitia Dean)’s son Denny increase at an alarming speed.
As the Mitchell and Beale families sit down for dinner, tensions continue to rise - and, when a protective Sharon suddenly makes a decision about Bobby, relations between the two families fall to pieces.
Dinner is soon forgotten, and events quickly spiral out of control, leading to a devastating car crash which will put the lives of some of our favourite Walford residents at risk.
But who will walk away unscathed?
Confirming a character WILL be killed off during the festive episodes, Dominic Treadwell-Collins told BBC Radio London: "We've kind of pushed the boat out a little bit this year. Normally EastEnders looks at Christmas Day on its own, but what we've tried to do this year is look at it the way we looked at Live Week back in February.
"From Christmas Eve, going all the way through to January and beyond, the stories keep on coming and the twists keep on coming.”
It remains to be seen whether or not the crash is Bobby’s doing, or Denny’s, or even the result of Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Jane’s desperate attempt to silence Sharon’s testimony about their murderous little boy.
But, with Phil’s desperate scream heard in the promo, it seems clear that the shockwaves will be felt throughout Albert Square - and for a very long time, too.
EastEnders will air at 8.45pm on Christmas Day.
