In an upcoming episode of EastEnders, Donna Yates tells Vincent Hubbard – her brother – that she wants him to be the FATHER of her baby.

Yes, you read that right, EastEnders fans.

Donna (Lisa Hammond) has been desperate for a baby for some time now, and in an upcoming episode, the market stall holder will be a part of a controversial storyline.

Without a boyfriend to have a baby with, Donna decides to look for a sperm donor; and after babysitting Pearl, decides that her brother Vincent (Richard Blackwood) would make the perfect father to her child.

Speaking to Inside Soap, Lisa revealed that Vincent is “shocked” at Donna’s proposition, however Donna believes he is the right person to make her dream come true.

"She looks around her at the men in her life and sees how Vincent is with Pearl, regardless of the other things he might do, and she thinks that she will have a good chance of getting him to be there for her,” Lisa said.

Explaining that Vincent always looks out for Donna and supports her with everything, and admiring the way he is with his daughter Pearl, makes her realise he is the perfect candidate to father her child.

However, viewers will see Vincent turn Donna down – until she pleads with her brother to speak to his wife Kim about the idea.

And as EastEnders fans will know, feisty Kim Fox (Tameka Empson) won’t be persuaded that easily.

Lisa revealed: "Donna and Kim are not the best of friends anyway and Kim is very protective of her family.

“Kim thinks it’s a ridiculous suggestion. She is thinking of the logistics and realises it would also mean Kim being forced to have a relationship with Donna!"

But what will the outcome of Donna’s proposal be?

We will have to wait and see…
