EastEnders fans will know that, in Walford, revenge is always a dish best served cold.
It’s also, however, a dish best served with a side of menace and murderous intent.
So, when Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) and Vincent Hubbard (Richard Blackwood) tried to bump off murderous matriarch Claudette, we knew it wouldn’t end well.
Mainly because they didn’t do a very good job - she’s still alive and kicking!
Actress Ellen Thomas previously tweeted a not-so-cryptic message, hinting at Claudette’s plans for those who have wronged her.
She wrote simply: “Patience.
“All will get what they deserve.”
She later added: “Revenge is a dish best served cold…”
And now, speaking to The Sun, Richard Blackwood has let slip that Claudette could be set to bump off her own son.
Eep!
He said: “Without giving too much away, he has choices to make.
“Vincent never has a clear run. All he wants to do is have a good family, be a provider, run the Albert and have a peaceful, non-drama life and it can’t go that way.
“He’s wrestling a lot of darkness himself, but he gets tested and you will see he gets tested.”
Richard added: “You have got to remember Claudette killed his dad, pushed him over a balcony, buried him and then kept it a secret for all of Vincent’s life.
“Then when she told him, she had no remorse – he should be scared.”
We know that Claudette has the mind of a serial killer; after all, when her husband, Henry, went out onto the balcony for a cigarette back in 1981, she rushed out after him and shoved him over the edge.
She then buried him on the Spring Lane estate, and told her son that he had been murdered by Eric Mitchell, sparking Vincent’s desire to wreak his revenge on Phil (Steve McFadden) and Grant (Ross Kemp).
As if that weren’t damning enough, Claudette also - albeit in a bid to save her own son’s skin - left Fatboy to be crushed to death in a trash compactor.
And let’s not forget what she did to Gavin Sullivan.
So does she have it in her to kill fan favourite Patrick?
And, more disturbingly, could she ever bring herself to murder her own son?
Only time will tell, we guess. We certainly wouldn’t put anything past her!
EastEnders returns to BBC One tonight at 8pm.
