EastEnders fans, could Jay Brown and Abi Branning be set to rekindle their romance?

Abi and Jay

There’s no point denying it; Abi Branning and Jay Brown were the CUTEST childhood sweethearts to ever find love in Albert Square.

But, as tensions rose over the identity of Lucy Beale’s murderer, the couple found themselves on the rocks.

And it wasn’t long before Jay was calling time on their relationship, insisting that Abi’s changed behaviour meant that she didn’t feel like “home” anymore.

Sob.

It wasn’t long before Bad Abi had jumped headfirst into a rebound relationship with Ben Mitchell (Harry Reid) - aka Jay’s surrogate brother.

However Ben is now head-over-heels in love with Paul Coker (Johnny Labey), and Jay (Jamie Borthwick) recently discovered that his girlfriend, Linzi, is actually 14-years-old.

So, with Abi and Jay both heartbroken, damaged by their relationships AND single again, could they be set to reunite?

Lorna Fitzgerald, who plays Abi, certainly thinks so!

“I think they could; I think character wise they could definitely get back together," Lorna told Express.co.uk.

Believing that the former couple are destined to be together, Lorna added: "I think specifically the character of Abi, she always sees her home in Jay and that’s why she got so caught up in Ben.

"It was massively a rebound, I mean she ran over her dog and then got with Ben a week later!”

She added firmly: “I think they’re soulmates.”

We would have agreed with you at one point, Lorna… but then Abi went a little evil genius on us.

Maybe, if she returns to her sweet self, we could get back on board with her and Jay reuniting.

If not, we definitely think Jay should enlist her to help out if he finds himself blackmailed by Linzi; Abi Branning is devious, twisted, and she certainly takes no prisoners!

Do you think Abi and Jay are soulmates?
