The mystery man is none other than Max Branning! Yes, Stacey and father-in-law Max are back up to their old tricks again this week.
Despite promising Carol that he would be in court to support Alice, Max sneaks off to the hotel that Stacey is hiding out in.
Stacey begs Max to stop Kat from testifying in support of Janine, her conscience getting the better of her, and Max moves in to hug her.
The hug turns into a kiss, leaving Max hoping that the pair can pick up their relationship again.
But before anything else can happen, Stacey disappears.
