Former EastEnders actress Hetti Bywater, who played Lucy Beale at the time of her grisly death, has revealed she “hated” the character and is glad she got killed off.
The comments came as Hetti staged a take-down of a persistent troll who regularly comments on her posts. The actress replied to a number of their comments underneath her pictures, addressing each of the slurs in turn.
"Seeing as you kindly comment on many of my stories I will now take the time to respond to each one,” she wrote. To one she replied, "I'm glad Bobby killed Lucy too, I hated her."
Underneath another comment she wrote, “This 'posh white' girl is allowed to talk in whatever way she pleases. As much as I'm very found of the English language, I'm free to use words as I see fit."
She later wrote, “LGBTQIA+ history is an extremely important part of education. To believe otherwise is ridiculously problematic and homophobic."
"Trampy sl*t? Fair comment. I do love gay men yes I also love straight men. (The ones who aren't homophobic or sexist.)"
