EastEnders fans tuned in to the show on Friday 13th and were eager to see if the curse had managed to find itself in Walford.
However, it seemed that the writers were the ones in a bit of trouble as they made a huge mistake with one of their storylines – and viewers spotted it straight away!
One of the Square favourites, Mick Carter, was celebrating his 40th birthday in the episode that aired last night.
Although he is usually caught up in a lot of soap drama, this time it was something far less serious – and fans have been left very confused, with a lot of questions.
Why?
Because viewers noted that although it was supposed to be his birthday, Mick, played by actor Danny Dyer, wasn’t born on 13th January.
In fact, the character’s birthday is actually supposed to be the 19th January.
Eagle-eyed EastEnders spotted the mistake and quickly took to Twitter to share their proof.
Oh dear!
Others were confused as to whether or not he had two birthdays (much like the Queen!) and couldn’t work out what had gone wrong.
“I could swear Mick’s birthday is on the 19th,” one fan wrote, linking to the EastEnders Wikia page that clearly states his date of birth as “19th January 1977”.
Could it have been a mistake?
The likelihood is that producers were trying to tie it in to make it work with the storylines – and only the committed EastEnders fans would have noticed it.
It’s not the first time this week that the show has been riling up fans.
However, we doubt anyone was seriously offended by this blunder!
Let’s see if Mick gets his second birthday next week, too …
