EastEnders fans were left in total shock after the father of Denise Fox’s baby was revealed.

Fans were convinced fellow Walford resident Kush Kazemi was the dad as they had been secretly seeing each other behind the back of his mother Carmel.

But Denise was told by the doctor that she is actually 19 weeks pregnant, meaning Kush could not have been the father.

Therefore it is actually Phil Mitchell.

A shocked EastEnders audience took to Twitter to voice their surprise at the storyline but it seems many were totally on board with the unforeseen turn of events.

One person tweeted: "Phil Mitchell being the father of Denise’s baby is one of the funniest storylines ever. Up there with Darren Miller and Heather."

Another wrote: "I think Denise being pregnant with Phil Mitchell’s baby is by new favourite ever #EastEnders storyline."

Someone else posted: "So is Denise pregnant with Phil’s baby? EastEnders gives me a headache!"

And another fan added: "OMG Denise is pregnant with Phil’s baby but poor Kush. He is gonna get his heart broken again, he so wants to be a dad."

Only time will tell how Kush deals with the fall out of the news and it is yet to be seen how Phil’s estranged wife Sharon will cope.

Meanwhile, Phil’s alcoholism storyline continues after he was drunk when he last slept with Denise.
