As we all know, Eastenders usually gives us a pleasant, happy and family-friendly affair every Christmas. Something to smile over while gobbling down the last of the turkey, something to warm the cockles of our hearts as we sip a glass of mulled wine… that kinda thing.

Except we're actually lying; Eastenders is always the most depressing, the most dramatic and most explosive thing on the television at Christmas. And this year looks to be no different.

Check out the trailer - if you dare:

Janine's hurling Christmas trees to the floor, David is getting a little cray-cray with a wad of notes and Ronnie… well, Ronnie doesn't look like she's having a good time at all.

Throw in the arrival of Danny Dyer and an extra-special toast to Kat and Alfie and, all of a sudden, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
