According to reports, bosses are desperate to keep the EastEnders favourites and will be offering the whole family new contracts.
Danny, 37, and Kelly Bright, 38, who play Mick and Linda, and Maddy Hill, 24, and Danny-Boy Hatchard, aka Nancy and Lee, are all signing up to stay on for at least another year.
Speaking to the Daily Star, Danny-Boy said: "We're going to be doing another year. I'm excited about it.
"It's a big shame that Sam Strike [Johnny] left – that left a big gap in the family. But we've got even closer recently.
"And with another year together it'll mean we can bring more drama to the show."
The Carters have helped to boost ratings on the BBC One soap with their emotional story lines.
Since turning up in Walford on Christmas Day 2013, they've come to terms with Johnny's sexuality, faced the horror of Linda's rape and dealt with Mick's sister Shirley [Linda Henry] being revealed as his mother.
