Double standards, bullying and outright lying; here’s the 6 things that left us fuming over the I’m A Celebrity Coming Out special

Did you watch the series finale of I'm A Celebrity? We did - and it really got our blood boiling...

First things first, where were Kian Egan and David Emanuel?

Kian won the title of King of the Jungle. Woohoo! David Emanuel was second out, making him… we don't know, the royal consort or something? We're not sure.

Either way, they were both winners in our eyes - but producers gave them almost zero camera time at the wrap party because they were too busy lapping up all that cat fight action. And we think it's such a shame that the boys who did so well may as well have not bothered.

Nice guys may have won our hearts, but they definitely finished last in the Coming Out editing suite.

Gender stereotyping got outta control

In the jungle, the campmates readily admitted that Joey Essex did not pull his weight in camp. But they were fine with it, only ever mentioning it to his face when they made him stand at the bottom of the line for the 'Laziest Contestant' ranking challenge.

At the time, Joey protested: "I work well hard, I work very hard in this jungle. I wash dishes, empty the toilet, I do everything. I am no-where near last."

But, while the campmates gave in to Joey's demands that he be moved further up the pecking order, Alfonso said later in the Bush Telegraphy: "I would agree with Joey and Amy being at the bottom of that category. In terms of in camp work, Joey sleeps a lot, gets involved then disappears."

But with Amy? Different story. Why is it so much worse for a woman to be viewed as lazy than a man? We guess you'd just have to ask those celebs...

Rebecca Adlington's ridiculous outburst over concealer

This was just silly. Rebecca had come out of the jungle, jumped on the "Amy is bad for contraband" wagon and realised, to her horror, that Amy had told viewers that she, Rebecca, had also used the illegal concealer.

And she really wasn't happy about it.

But, rather than taking Amy aside, like Alfonso did, and speakinh to her like a normal and rational human being, Rebecca decided to go public with her anger. Flanked by Matthew Wright, Lucy Parden, Laila Morse and Annabel Giles, she marched up to Amy and began arguing with her in the middle of a celebratory wrap party.

Why? Because, apparently, if anyone knew that Rebecca had been cheating in I'm A Celebrity, it would ruin her career as an Olympic swimmer.

Yeah, we know.

Rebecca saw red over Amy's concealer claims

It went something along these lines:

"I'm an Olympian, I pride myself on not cheating… the fact that that's damaged my reputation for something I didn't do is quite offensive, when I've been the nicest to you out of everyone.

"I felt like we were friends, I was one of the nicest to you.

"I didn't put it [the concealer] on my face… you said 'oh beck, come here', so I went in the dunny. I appreciated you saying 'here you go' and I put my finger out and went 'oh thanks babe, but it's not really my colouring' which is what I said and walked out."

"I felt like we were friends, I was one of the nicest to you"

Just… what? It went from Rebecca not using it at all to going into the dunny with the intention of using it, putting it on her finger and then turning it down for colouring purposes?

We don't understand why everyone had to be involved in this silly argument. We really don't.

Speaking of which…

Joey Essex was trying desperately to diffuse the situation, reminding everyone that it was supposed to be a nice night - one for celebrating their success.

But, as he said, "c'mon guys, we are friends, we're all having a nice night…" he was cut off, sharply, by Matthew Wright.

"No, I don't think we are having a nice night. You keep saying that but it's not what we're hearing."

Which just… it just fans the flames. Why not let everyone clear the air, without an audience? Without an audience of people throwing their oar in, even?

So childish.

The lack of goodwill

We don't want to keep preaching good behaviour, but it seemed unnecessarily nasty that, when Amy Willerton arrived at the hotel, she was greeted by a group of stony faces and utter, utter silence.

Everyone else got applause. Every single other person got applause. Why even stand there in the hotel foyer to greet her if you hate her so much? At least let her arrive to an empty hotel and assume you're all busy in the pool, topping up your tans, than making it so very clear you hate her guts. It's just not classy behaviour.

Alfonso Ribeiro being the only adult

He may not have been an I'm A Celebrity favourite, but Alfonso was the only member of the camp who went to address his grievances with Amy privately and calmly, allowing her a chance to say her piece.

Alfonso sat down with Amy and talked to her properly, explaining his opinion and listening to hers

And they DID clear the air, they hugged it out and, while he doesn't think she understands what it means to be a team player, he was over the situation.

It just seems to highlight the different attitudes men and women have to those who they dislike. While the men were, on the whole, open with Amy, the women chose to talk about her behind her back and cut her down while she wasn't there.

Rather than burying the hatchet, they just kept swinging it. And the overwhelming bitchiness of it all was… it was just depressing to see.
