Pat Butcher, Kathy Mitchell, Cindy Beale and Lucy Beale will all return to haunt Ian Beale for a Children In Need special next month.

A show source confirmed the news to The Sun, saying: "We are getting some of the show's most iconic names back for one night only. It's going to be historic.

"All the characters have a link to Ian Beale and they are going to come back to haunt him in scenes that will feature his past and present. It really is going to be great viewing.

"This is going to be an absolute must-watch evening of TV for any EastEnders fan."

Lucy, Ian's daughter, was killed on Good Friday this year, and the resulting whodunnit? is leading up to the show's 30th anniversary in February.

Pat died on New Year's Day in 2012, it was revealed that Kathy, Ian's mum, died in a car crash in 2006, six years after she left the Square.

Ian's first wife Cindy died in childbirth in 1998 and Ian made the decision to have her daughter named after her.

Speaking to The Sun recently, Michelle Collins, who played Cindy, said: "I am doing something with EastEnders for Children In Need but that's all I can say."

Children In Need will air on Friday November 14 at 7pm on BBC One.
