Danny Dyer has teased he may quit EastEnders after suggesting he'll refuse to sign a new contract.

Soap bosses are hoping he’ll continue to appear on the BBC show as Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter and will agree to sign on the dotted line later this year.

But the star may want to concentrate on other things in the future as he says the job takes a lot of dedication.

According to The Sun, he told fans on set this week: “This takes up my life, this does. I ain’t signed yet. I’m meant to sign in October but I might elbow it.”

Danny then launched into a rant over the fact he’s unable to make more movies due to the time he has to give over to the soap.

When asked if he will return to films, he moaned: “F*cking hell, I’m doing this,” when a fan chimed in: “We still need a film though Danny,” prompting the cockney geezer to hit back: “F^cking hell, tell me about it.”

However, it seems Danny’s comments may be in jest, as a source said: “He didn’t want to share his personal business and was making a flippant comment.

“He makes no secret that he loves the show and is hopeful of sorting a deal.”

Danny also recently tweeted that he has a “job I adore” and a BBC spokesperson insisted he would continue to step foot on Albert Square, saying: “Danny will be staying with EastEnders.”
