We love Linda and Mick Carter, they're the dream soap couple, proving time and time again that true love will ALWAYS win.
We're sure EastEnders fans are aware that Linda Carter's 'brief' exit is approaching as Kellie Bright (who plays Linda) is expecting her second child in November.
Announcing her baby news on Twitter back in May, Kellie wrote: "Shhh… Don't tell anyone, but I'm pregnant! My hubby and I are over the moon & looking forward to meeting out little person in November #Mama @ 40"
The 39-year-old then made it clear that she'll only be going on a break from the BBC show and not leaving: "And for those of you that want to know, I will be returning to @bbceastenders after I've had the baby #QueenVicisMyHome #LindaCarter4ever xx"
Yay!
But now there are rumours that her on-screen husband Danny Dyer will be taking a break from the show with her.
Danny Dyer previously hinted that he definitely wouldn't be leaving the show, he tweeted: "While you're gone I'm assuming an affair with Dot is on the cards."
He then tweeted: "Me in the vic on my jack when @kelliebright76 is on maternity leave. #lost"
However, soap stars are pretty amazing at keeping secrets from us mere mortals so Danny Dyer could just be playing with us all...
In a cruel twist, Danny has now shared a post (written by a blog dedicated to the BBC show) that features a pretty plausible theory about how Linda will leave with Mick instead of leaving him behind.
The fan theory suggests that as a potential break up is off the cards, Danny could leave with Linda AND Lee (Danny-Boy Hatchard has revealed that he is leaving the soap later this year).
It reads:"Linda is not going anywhere without Mick and vice versa. To have Linda up sticks and move for the length of time required for her leave would not be realistic.
"No one will buy it and it will smack of desperation. Why not allow Danny a similar break to Kellie?
"This would ensure the characters would come back to an audience that's missed them and Danny gets a chance to recharge his batteries.
"Remember these are two people who are the forefront of the show. These guys work hard. What do you think is the best way to handle Kellie's maternity leave?"
Danny definitely could use a break, couldn't he?
Does this mean we'll have to say farewell to our favourite couple? (For a little while anyway...)
Do you think this theory is plausible?
How do would YOU like Linda to leave the show?
