Coronation Street is about to throw us a curve ball as devoted husband Daniel Osbourne cheats on his dying wife.
With Sinead’s cancer having returned more rampant than ever, times are tough for the young family and Dan will lean on close friend Bethany Platt for solace.
And with Bethany also reliving parts of her dark past after the return of some of Nathan’s grooming gang to Weatherfield, their support for each other proves to be mutually valuable.
With the two of them emotionally vulnerable, talking quickly turns into something more as the pair find themselves alone and leaning on each other for support.

Seb can't hide excitement as he tells Eileen that Alina is coming back to see him. When Eileen asks Alina if she knows what's happened to Jan, it's clear she's still missing him.

But Jed is furious when he walks in on the 'proposal'. When Robert leaves Vicky's flat he's horrified to find that Jed has broken into his van and his holding the other ring. Why does Robert need two?

Later on at the Bistro, Robert feels he has no choice but to tells Michelle that the ring was stolen from his van, but as Craig comes to take a statement, Michelle wonders why the van (and Robert) were in Macclesfield.

Later that afternoon, Jed arrives at the Bistro with the stolen ring and makes it clear he's willing to tell Michelle everything unless Robert plays his game.

Jed blackmails Robert and demands £5k, but Robert insists he only has £2k. Jed accepts the cash and gives Robert back his ring – on the condition that Robert convinces Tyler to move to Belfast.

Later on when Michelle comes back to Bistro, Robert says that the ring turned up – but when Michelle demands to know where the £2k from the safe has gone, Robert has to backtrack and say he spent the money replacing the ring. Phew!

Robert things he's got away with his lies (for now). But soon Jed overhears him going back on his end of the bargain, telling Tyler that he hopes he'll stay around to help look after the new baby.

"Bethany and Daniel will grow closer over the next few weeks,” a telly insider told The Sun.
"There's a spark between them that comes at the worst possible time as Sinead's cancer has returned.
"Daniel leans a bit too much on Bethany and she him after all her abuse by Nathan's gang is brought back up. They're both really vulnerable and one minute they're talking and the next they're snogging.”

They added, “Daniel is going to be guilt-stricken over what he's done to Sinead, and he's terrified he's getting his dad's worst qualities. Bethany will confide in her family over what's happened to try and come to terms with her own guilt."
Sinead’s battle with cancer has been raging since last year, when she decided to forgo treatment in order to have a natural pregnancy, and delivered the couples’ first son, Bertie, in January.
But despite being given the all clear, Sinead’s been in constant fear that her cancer would come back – last week receiving the heartbreaking news that it had returned, and this time was terminal.
