The Crystal Maze is coming back - and, this time, YOU can play!

If you’re anything like us, you probably spend a great deal of your time getting nostalgic about 90s gameshow The Crystal Maze.

Which is why we couldn’t stop ourselves from squealing with excitement when we heard that it’s FINALLY making a comeback.

Sort of, anyway.

The original show, presented by the wonderfully eccentric Richard O’Brien, saw contestants don boiler suits and embark on an adventure through a labyrinth of puzzle rooms.

Finally, after tackling the challenges posed by the (VERY well themed) Aztec, Ocean, medieval, and Futuristic Zones, they would wind up locked in a large crystal dome.

The fans would start blowing, gold and silver-coloured chocolate wrappers would fly upwards into the air, and they would be forced to dance about and grab as many gold bits as they could - all for the chance to win a golf ball-sized Swarovski crystal.

Guite simply, it was marvellous.

And it has now been revealed that a brand-new “live and immersive interactive experience”, based on the show, is set to be launched in London, where fans of the show will be put through their paces by a Richard O’Brien lookalike.

According to their website, people have to register NOW if they’re interested in taking part.

Their Twitter account promises: “The legendary game show is back! But this time we all get to play!”

No word yet on whether Mumsy’s going to be back or not - but we can hope.

Anyone else desperate to get inside that dome? And, more importantly, do you think Channel 4 should bring the show back to our TV screens?
