Leanne Battersby and Steve McDonald have been fighting a valiant fight to save Oliver Battersby's life after he was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease back in June.
But with a full recovery looking less and less likely and their legal fees already through the roof, this week will see the final verdict reached on whether or not the hospital will continue to fund his life support.

With Paul out at his work 'do, Billy gets a visit from the bishop who is thrilled to confirm the archdeacon role is his, but they're soon interrupted by Paul returning home.

It's quickly evident that Paul has had too much to drink and when he begins to disrobe and offers the bishop a beer, Billy can't get him out of there quick enough.

Following their team building evening Adam is sure he's in there with Alina and boldly asks her out for a drink when they bump into each other in the street.

It was a close call with the bishop but Billy is relieved to learn the job is still his, despite Paul's drunken antics, and passes the news onto Paul.

Meanwhile, Sean and Michael return home from a sales seminar in Manchester and have some good news to share with Sarah.

Back at the factory, it's the third time that Sarah has caught Adam trying it on with Alina and, at the end of her tether, confronts him.

Adam remains infuriatingly unmoved as Sarah shrieks at him about using Alina to get to her and unleashes a tirade of abuse.

As Sarah lets loose at Adam, she doesn't spot Carla approaching with a potential client and is embarrassed to be caught losing her temper.

At the hospital, Nick arrives to see Oliver. Toyah reminds him Leanne has banned him from seeing him, but feels sorry for Nick and allows him to stay.

When Leanne turns up later on she's fuming to see Nick and Oliver together and demands he leave immediately, but soon regrets being so harsh.

The following day it's Oliver's hearing and Steve and Leanne listen on as Dr Howarth gives her view that it would be an act of kindness to turn off Oliver's life support.

A tearful Leanne then stands up and explains that all she wants as a mother is to not give up on her son and begs the judge to have compassion.

Back in court Leanne and Steve listen in silence as the judge delivers her verdict that Oliver's life support should be switched off.

By Oliver's bedside, Leanne matter-of-factly begins to talk about launching an appeal to overturn the judges decision but Steve isn't so sure.

Gently, Steve tries to explain that they've done all they can for Oliver and he thinks the judge is right and they should let him go. Leanne has never felt betrayal like it.
