Coronation Street viewers in uproar on Twitter: ‘GET OFF THE LADDER, AMY!’

Last night’s Coronation Street was an absolute scorcher (see what we did there?) of an episode, there’s no doubting that.

Viewers of the ITV soap watched in horror as the flames ripped through Carla’s apartment, as Tracy Barlow watched smugly from the street.

But the smile was soon wiped off of her face when she found out that it wasn’t just Carla whose life was in danger; her daughter Amy was still trapped inside, alongside Leanne and Kal.

Cue a frantic search for a ladder (nobody remembered where they put it after they rescued Neil from the roof of the Rovers!) and a desperate attempt at rescue.

It might have gone well, you know. They really might have managed to get all of them out of there - if it hadn’t been for Amy’s aversion to heights.

And, you know, that unfortunately place gas canister.

As it happened, Amy - after what felt like hours - was persuaded to move her butt down that damn ladder to safety. As did Leanne.

But Kal? He was doomed from the very moment Leanne accepted his proposal, really - happiness, in soap land, is a surefire ticket to fiery death.

Absolutely tragic.

But, while you’d think viewers would direct their wrath at Tracy (she STARTED the fire, for goodness sake!), it turned out that they were a lot more angry at Amy.

Check out the Twitter uproar here:

Like mother, like daughter we guess; you just can’t beat that murderous instinct.
