But who is to blame?
After the revelation that Carla Connor had planned to outsource the workers' jobs to cut costs, they are determined to fight for their rights and stage an occupation of the factory in protest.
Gina Sneddon and Sally Metcalfe go up to the roof to hang a banner saying 'Save Our Jobs' – but with Carla having refused to have the roof fixed with Gary Windass's extortionate prices, it quickly gives way under their feet.
Carla arrives back on the Street to the carnage at the factory and police already gathered.
Meanwhile, Peter has left Weatherfield on his sailing trip, having finally decided that though he loves Carla, she's no good for him.
Rana Habeeb and Kate Connor's wedding looks to be in turmoil after Rana is thrown by an unexpected wedding gift from her mother.
Though Kate insists they can postpone the wedding, Rana wants to go ahead – but on the day of the ceremony, she's nowhere to be found...

Carla is distraught when she hears through the grapevine that Peter has bought a new boat and plans to set sail right away. Realising this is her last change to tell him how she feels, she follows them to Southhampton where he's heading off from.

Carla calls Peter's phone and Ken answers, telling her where they are. She jumps into the car and tells Peter she loves him and begs him not to leave. Peter's shocked, and tells her he loves her but she's bad for him – he has to leave.

As they prepare for their big day, Imran hands Rana a wedding present from their mother and her heart sinks, wishing she could be there to celebrate it.

Sensing Rana's sadness, Kate tries her best to comfort her wife to be. She tells Rana that they can postpone the wedding until she's ready, but Rana insists they go ahead.

But the quarrelsome sisters quickly descend into a heated argument. Suddenly, the roof that Carla has refused to fix since the fire becomes unstable.

The meticulous plan that Carla Connor has built for outsourcing production at the company comes crashing down
When Nick Tilsley learns about her intentions he is furious. He exposes Carla to the entire factory floor and with their jobs at risk, the workers aren't playing nicely.
Despite Peter Barlow's best efforts to soften the blow for Carla she lashes out at him, and Ken Barlow urges him to work out how he feels about her – once and for all.
Evelyn Plummer has returned to Weatherfield, but Tyrone Dobbs is not about to let her off the hook that easily. Taking her on part time at the garage to pay him back the money she owes, he's surprised by her usefulness.
Kate Connor and Rana Habeeb want to take back control of their wedding planning from Lolly, who has suggested a male stripper for the hen do! But when Lolly overhears them gossiping about her, it's time to cut to the chase.
Michelle Connor is devastated when an unplanned trip the hospital reveals she wasn't pregnant after all. Robert Preston thinks Carla is meddling, and warns her to stay away.
