Sarah-Louise Platt is coming back after a seven-year break, bringing her now grown-up daughter Bethany with her.
Tina O'Brien, who played Sarah-Lou for eight years, is reprising the role. She told a UK newspaper: "I am delighted to be returning. Sarah has a lot of history and unfinished business on the street and I'm looking forward to finding out what she's been up to and why she's returned home."
One person who probably won't be happy to see her is half-brother David. The last time viewers saw Sarah-Lou, she was fleeing to start a new life in Milan after planting drugs on David and ruining his career.
Sarah-Lou's return could also cause upset for the Grimshaws, given her romantic history with brothers Jason and Todd.
Tina was also previously in a relationship with Ryan Thomas, who plays Jason.
This week she gave birth to her second child, a boy who's name is yet to be announced. Although Tina hasn't yet spoken of her latest arrival, she took to Twitter to retweet some messages of congratulations.
One well-wisher wrote: "Huge congrats to @tinaob on the arrival of a new baby brother for S! Hope all is going well xx"
Tina is already mum to five-year-old daughter Scarlett, from her relationship with Ryan.
Sarah-Louise's first scenes will air in 2015.
