We suspected it may happen, but we’d hoped against hope that Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) would be able to resist the temptation.
Now it’s been confirmed that she WILL cheat on popular Corrie character Steve McDonald.
Sob.
It all kicks off on Michelle’s 40th birthday, when she receives a beautiful bouquet of flowers and assumes they’re from her husband.
When she reads the label, however, she is disappointed to discover that the are actually from her old flame, Will Chatterton (Leon Ockenden).
She later perks up when Steve sends word that he will be coming home from Spain to see his beloved wife on her landmark birthday.
Michelle gets all dolled up for her hubby - only to be left heartbroken when he isn’t on his planned flight.
And it’s at this point that Michelle snaps.
She heads to Will’s house for comfort and reassurance, but, convinced that Steve no longer loves her, things soon get carried away.
It isn’t long before she and Will are kissing passionately and, as one thing leads to another, viewers will be left watching as she heads upstairs to Will’s bedroom with him.
However it seems as if there is still hope for fans of Michelle and Steve’s relationship, as pub landlady will be seen having second thoughts as she lays down on Will’s bed.
After pushing him away and rushing from the house, it’s clear that Michelle has finally come to her senses.
But, when she returns home to find Steve waiting for her, how will a guilty Michelle react?
