We've been building up to Kylie Platt's untimely end in Coronation Street for a while, but will there be blood on the cobbles?
Some of the cast spoke on Good Morning Britain about the “moving” and “brilliant” scenes as actress Paula Lane, who plays the character, makes a tragic exit from the soap she’s called home for six years.
David Platt actor Jack P Shepherd said the scenes with his on-screen love were “really harrowing to do”.
"When we were rehearsing them, I couldn’t give anything, I just had to literally say words and not look at anyone.
“Until the director came down and said, ‘Are you actually going to give something?’
“I said, 'Don’t worry it will be there! I can’t physically give anything because that will be it, I’ve only got one or two shots at this.'"
Helen Worth, who plays Gail McIntyre, added: "I just know that Jack and Paula were amazing. It was absolutely brilliant. I was in tears. As Jack was, I couldn't read the script either.”
Paula will be terribly missed, said Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah Platt. “She’s a fantastic actress. She was a massive part of the Platts, it’s literally going to rip the heart out of David.”
Fans have long speculated that Kylie’s departure will be related to Callum’s death after he attacked her sister-in-law Sarah Louise.
Paula has previously said: "The audience are going to get a real sense of shock and surprise - how sudden death is. They’re going to feel those emotions."
The cast didn’t give any spoilers on the final twist, only adding the Platts may experience a change of fortune as time goes on.
Meanwhile, expect graphic scenes of David mourning over an open coffin.
Coronation Street airs this Friday on ITV at 7.30 and 8.30pm.
