We've known for quite some time that actress Paula Lane is leaving the soap after being on the show for five years.

Last year on Corrie's live episode viewers saw Kylie Platt kill her ex-boyfriend Callum Logan (Sean Ward) after he attacked her sister-in-law Sarah Platt.

Since the discovery of his body the audience have been wondering whether Kylie's exit will be related to killing Callum.

However it was recently confirmed that Kylie will meet her maker on the show but the writers are STILL keeping how she dies under wraps.

The actress confirmed her departure on Twitter, writing: "So it's official, I can now confirm I'm leaving Coronation Street this summer after a wonderful five years.

"It's time to fly the nest…"

She has recently said: "I have so many friends here and Jack [P. Shephard] really is great to work with, I love him to bits, it is going to be gut wrenching, it is safe to say the performances the viewers will be seeing will be real I think."

And it looks like her exit will be extremely emotional.

On This Morning Kylie's on-screen husband Jack revealed: "They did tell me actually when the scripts were coming out, they're very harrowing, the scenes and they're very emotional."

And even though he was unable to say how exactly Kylie dies on the street, he did say: "I've never read any scenes before and cried, and as I was reading them I was crying.

"I couldn't stop crying."

The actor has been playing David for 16 years, and in the past he has had some great storylines, from his step-dad Richard Hillman attempting to drown the whole family in a canal, to his wild teenage years and now he will have to face Kylie's death.

Paula Lane previously teased that her character's death will "catapult him [David] into a new lease of life."

We're dying (excuse the pun) to find out how she will exit the cobbles and how David will cope once Kylie's gone...

Coronation Street is on ITV Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 7.30pm.

These scenes will air next week.
