WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS CORONATION STREET SPOILERS WHICH SOME SOAP FANS MAY WISH TO AVOID
It looks as if it’s going to be a heartbreaking Christmas in Weatherfield this year.
Coronation Street boss Stuart Blackburn has revealed that viewers need to be prepared for the worst when it comes to Fiz and Tyrone’s daughter Hope.
In upcoming weeks, we will see the little girl diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, an aggressive form of cancer that is common in infants.
And, by the time the winter months hit, her condition will have dramatically deteriorated - leaving Tyrone and Fiz terrified that it could be her last Christmas.
Speaking at a recent press event, Stuart Blackburn said: “It’s going to be Fiz and Tyrone’s episode where they fear it could be Hope’s last Christmas.”
He added: “But what she is going to have is the best Christmas ever.
“Santa Claus – he is real and he is genuinely coming.”
However he added that viewers need to prepare for the worst, as long-term survival rates for children diagnosed with neuroblastoma is very poor.
We imaging we will definitely need a big box of tissues for this one.
