Gemma turns Cinderella when she gatecrashes a posh party…
There could be romance and treats-galore on the horizon for the fabulous Gemma when she meets a mystery stranger who is not only handsome but LOADED!
The unlucky-in-love- kebab worker, who spends the majority of her time dishing out greasy donners and a good line in banter, decides to have a change of scene and heads out of Weatherfield for a night on the tiles.
But when she swerves the Rovers and decides to gate-crash a posh party, she catches the attention of a reveller called Harry Newton.
Harry, who’s at the house party along with a load of his posh chums, seems very taken with Gemma and it’s not long before the pair are cosying up on the sofa! You go girl!
However just as Harry is about to make his move on Gemma, things screech to an abrupt halt when the police turn up to raid the gathering. Uh oh…
Rita’s loyal lodger, who’s no stranger to crime-scenes and speedy getaways, is quick to beat a lightening exit, but as she dashes from the door she drops her sparkly shoe. Yes Gemma owns sparkly shoes!
AAAAH…. Who knew Corrie had its very own Cinderella!
Meanwhile Harry is gutted to discover Gemma has vanished into the night but when he finds her shoe, he’s on a mission to track her down. Will this fairytale have a happy ending?
Will Harry be successful in his footwear-owner quest? It seems so, because a little bird tells us we’re going to be seeing more of Harry…and not only that but we’ll going to discover he is heir to a fortune.
For the cunning , (and maybe ahem, slightly older), Corrie fans amongst you, you’ll note that Harry’s surname is Ridley and it transpires his grand-father is none other than Cecil Newton of Newton and Ridley brewery fame! They've been keeping The Rovers topped up with booze for years....
Yep…not only is Gemma on the verge of bagging herself a loaded AND handsome boyfriend but she could be in for a lifetime supply of free beers! It’s win win!!
