When Summer is rushed away in an ambulance a desperate Billy loses it and gets into a punch up!
All hell breaks loose next week when schoolgirl Summer smokes a cigarette that most definitely ISN’T a cigarette.
The vulnerable schoolgirl, who recently lost her dad Drew, is feeling sad as his birthday approaches and is looking for a way to numb her pain.
When Peter’s son Simon picks up a dodgy looking cigarette that he found in the school changing rooms, he challenges Summer to have a puff on it.
An upset Summer feels she’s got nothing to lose and takes a drag but there are terrible consequences when she suddenly collapses in the ginnel, where else! that hideaway- hotbed of all fallouts and drama!
Billy, who’s been entrusted to raise Summer as his own, is distraught when he returns to the Street only to see the young girl on a stretcher and being carted off into the back of an ambulance.
As the vicar and his partner, Todd, race to the hospital to be by Summer’s side they fear the worst, especially when they discover the school girl has inhaled the drug Spice. Is she going to be ok?
Daniel Brocklebank, who plays the devoted clergyman says, “Billy promised his ex, Drew, that he would take care of Summer. Not only is he beside himself with worry, but he feels bad that he hasn’t kept his promise.”
Meanwhile, a guilty Simon comes clean and admits to his dad Peter that he was the one who encouraged Summer to smoke the drug, unaware of what it was.
Peter decides to do the right thing and goes round to Billy and Todd’s flat to explain the situation and apologise.
However, vicar Billy is not in a forgiving mood and in the heat of the moment he loses it and aims a fierce punch at Peter! Hmm, not exactly the usual behaviour of our dog-collar-wearing man of the cloth!
“Just because Billy’s a vicar, it doesn’t mean he isn’t flawed”, says Daniel. “This is a side of Billy which he’s tried to suppress and which will come out in other ways later on.” Ok! So we’re expecting more fiery outbursts from Right-Hook Bill in that case.
When Todd hears about his other half’s punch-up he’s not only shocked but immediately worries that Billy’s outburst will jeopardise their chances of officially adopting Summer.
He’s right to worry. There’s soon more trouble brewing for Billy and Todd when Simon reports the attack on his dad to Social Services. Uh oh. Are Bodd, (that’s what we’ve decided to call Billy and Todd), about to lose the little girl they’ve come to love as their own? And more importantly, is Summer going to recover from her terrifying drugs ordeal?
