Things are set to take an even darker turn for David Platt in Coronation Street after being the victim of rape

Coronation Street viewers have watched as David Platt has been slowly withdrawing from his family and friends after his horrific rape ordeal at the hands of his supposed friend, Josh Tucker.

David has been left feeling unable to talk about the rape with anyone - and it's slowly driving a wedge in his relationships, including his girlfriend Shona.

Last night, we saw how Shona brought up the fact that they hadn't been intimate in a while and encouraged David to join her in the bedroom, but David just couldn't bring himself to and ran out of the house instead.

Unfortunately, this sparks the beginning of the end for David and Shona as we will see him break up with her in the episodes to come - and even sleep with the new intern at the hairdresser's, Emma.

But that's not even the worst of it for David, who this week will take part in the charity boxing match after Tyrone drops out, despite being told to stay out of it because of his epilepsy.

As Gary is rushed to hospital in an ambulance, David's sister Sarah screams at David that she will make him pay for his actions as he is arrested and questioned by police.

Gary has a bleed on the brain and spends the week in hospital, and David will eventually go to visit him in hospital, breaking down in tears and running out.

Will Gary make it through? Could David have a murder charge on his hands?
