Coronation Street residents will be left in shock next week as Chesney Brown gets stabbed in the Bistro

Is Corrie's favourite nice guy Chesney Brown about to meet the same fate as Kylie Platt when he gets stabbed in the Bistro next week? Kylie died last year after being fatally stabbed by Clayton Hibbs and it looks like Chesney could be heading the same way when he's left fighting for his life. Poor Chesney is caught up in the (frankly rather bizarre) drug-pushing-protection-racket-war between Robert Preston and his old mate, Rich.

Rich has been pressuring Robert to launder his drug money through the Bistro, and has threatened to reveal some dark secrets about Robert's past to Michelle if he doesn't play ball.

Robert has so far resisted but next week things step up a gear when Rich starts waving round a broken bottle.

With the most unfortunate timing ever, Chesney walks in and gets slashed before falling to the ground. He's rushed to hospital - but will he pull through?

Actor, Sam Aston, who plays Ches said of filming the scenes: "It was great fun. I’ve been here for quite a long time and I've never done anything like that.

"It was a challenge because Chesney is making kebabs most of the time. But it was really cool to be involved in something different."

Rich legs it but Daniel is on hand to try to stop the blood loss. But when Sinead sees this, she jumps to the wrong conclusion and believes that Daniel was responsible!
