Coronation Street spoilers: Emma dumps Chesney so he can be with Gemma – and regrets it

They've only been reunited a matter of weeks, but Gemma's brother Paul is already up to his old tricks, stealing Billy's mother's old ring and selling it to market trader Big Garth for 200 quid.

When Gemma tells him it's worth £3,000, the two of them head over to Big Garth's stall to barter for it back.

But when Big Garth refuses, they decide to ransack his van to see if they can find it themselves.

The pair of them end up locking themselves in, and to Gemma's surprise Paul starts to panic.

She rings Chesney, who, along with Emma, distracts Big Garth long enough for them to escape from the van.

Seeing the way Gemma hugs Chesney in thanks, Emma realises the two of them are meant to be together. She ends things on the spot, so he can be "free".

Later on, Chesney is disappointed when Gemma stands him up for their date at the pub. When she eventually shows, she apologises for her absence but is coy about where she's been.

Gemma asks Emma if she'll mind the bar while she and Chesney head down to the cellar for some alone time . . .

Feeling the pressure ahead of her court case, Jenny copes by getting blind drunk and kicking everyone out of the pub.

Hearing about Jenny's breakdown, Liz lets herself into the pub. How will Jenny react to being confronted by her nemesis, of all people?

Later on, Steve panics when the police turn up at the Rovers looking for Liz, as she hasn't turned up in court. Where could she be?

Johnny wants to support Jenny, but needs to rebuild her trust. The two of them sit down together to discuss their relationship honestly, for the first time in months.

Despite being warned to stay clear by Sally and Tracy, Abi is determined to go sailing with Peter on the boat. Even when Peter tells her he's not looking for a sailing partner, optimistic Abi doesn't loose faith, reasoning she has three months to change his mind.

Rita has decided not to sell the Kabin, fearing that it might upset Maria. But this gets Brian thinking. . .

Brian suggests to Cathy that they buy the Kabin themselves. When Cathy agrees, Brian is over the moon.

Excited to break the news to Rita, the two them rush to share the good news, but are caught off guard when an angry Rita bemoans that 'someone' bought the shop of Norris from under her.

Cathy and Brain reveal that they are the buyers – furious, Rita throws the keys at them and tells them she's resigning with immediate effect. Oops!

Later, Rita agrees to return to work, but only on the condition that she is made manager.

In spite of herself, Shona goes to visit Clayton in prison, and reveals that his dad has died from an overdose. But she quickly realises he already knew.

Clayton confides in Shona that he's being bullied, and needs her help to get transferred to an open prison. How can David compete for Shona's attention?

Meanwhile, Shona and Leanne get wind that Nick and David are planning to hire some 'hot totty' for the punters at their new business to ogle.

The two of them storm the interviews, and arrive just as Nick and David are meeting Andrea – who turns out to be a man!

The women confront Nick and accuse him of misogyny, demanding that he and David hire Andrea anyway.

But things turn nasty when Nick tells Shona she has no respect for David's feelings, and David is furious at Nick for interfering.

Roy has asked for Peter's advice on which of his mother's old jewellery Carla might like, but on closer inspection, realises something isn't right.

Carla is concerned when she returns home from a business trip to find Roy obsessing over his mums ring. What's the matter?
