It looks as if things are about to get even worse for Coronation Street’s Carla Connor.

In upcoming scenes, viewers will watch as Carla (Alison King) meets up with Robert (Tristan Gemmill) at the Bistro to talk to him about their recent one-night stand.

Full of remorse, and desperate to save her relationship with Nick Tilsley (Adam Rickitt), Carla will beg Robert to keep their illicit tryst a secret.

Unfortunately for Carla, however, there’s someone listening from the kitchen.

Yup, Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) has heard every single word… and, unsurprisingly, she’s filled with rage.

Which is why, when she sees two thugs enter the Bistro, Tracy calmly walks away and leaves Carla to her fate.

Following the botched robbery, Carla’s life is left hanging in the balance.

After being found battered and bruised on the street, Carla is rushed to hospital and into intensive care.

Doctors soon realise that an emergency operation is the only way to save Carla’s life - but is it too late?

And will Tracy, now that her arch-nemesis’s life hangs in the balance, blow the secret about Carla and Robert's fling to Nick?

We guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

However one thing’s for sure; this is all building up to an EXPLOSIVE departure for Alison King, who recently revealed that she is leaving Coronation Street - for good.

Speaking to The Metro, the Corrie star said: "I'm looking forward to going back to doing different things and being versatile. I was meant to give myself four years at the most and I've done an amazing ten years, but it's knackering.

“I need to creatively be a few other people now and see my daughter a bit more."*
