Coronation Street fans will be happy to hear that Alison King – aka Carla Connor – could be returning to the street.
Corrie viewers waved goodbye to Carla after she left the cobbles behind for a new life in Devon after her marriage to Nick Tisley broke down earlier this year.
After Nick found out that Carla had a one-night stand with Robert Preston, he couldn't get over it and broke up with Carla on their wedding day. Carla then caused a crash which left Cathy Matthews unconscious in hospital and lead to Roy and Carla falling out, however before she left the cobbles she managed to make up with Roy.
Alison King, who played Carla previously revealed that her exit is not a break and she is in fact leaving the show and she explained to OK! magazine why she left the show: "You're doing 15-hour days, plus two hours of learning new scripts once you get home.
"To do that for a decade can break you, so I would rather not be broken all the time for the rest of my life.
"I also think Carla has done everything she can do for now."
But Alison has reportedly been seen on set and it's been rumoured that Corrie's producer Kate Oates is eager to get Carla back on the street. A source told The Sun: "Kate is a big fan of Alison and is keen to get her back full-time as she loved her character.
"Alison struggled to find work since leaving in the summer and the cast and viewers would love her to return too."
They also hinted that upcoming storylines could help make her return to the show.
Eek!
We know Carla's former sister-in-law Michelle Connor is pregnant with her husband Steve MacDonald's baby and is unaware that he is also expecting a child with her best friend Leanne Battersby after they had a drunken one-night stand. So could Carla return to the cobbles to support her friend?
