Tyrone Dobbs and Fiz Brown are at the end of their tether with Hope Stape, but neither of them could dream things would get so out of control.
When social services arrive on their doorstep concerned that Hope's story, about how she broke her arm doesn't match theirs, they are gobsmacked to be told they're now under investigation, and that the girls will have to live somewhere else while it's ongoing.
Things go from bad to worse when a chance encounter with them leads to social services getting further involved and sending them away to live with Hope's half sister.
But who is it?
Elsewhere, things come crashing down for Tracy when Leanne finds out about her one-night-stand, and things get back to Steve. Is their marriage over?
Chesney Brown and Gemma Winter prepare for another shoot with the quads, but things don't go exactly as they'd like. When Chesney's new life as a tabloid star get in the way of him doing his job at Primer Donner, Dev Alahan gives him an ultimatum.
Meanwhile, Aggie's delight turns to fear when she's nominated for an award in the local paper, and Daniel is overwhelmed by his new role as single dad.

Now let's remind ourselves of the most explosive Christmas the Cobbles have EVER seen.
"Christmas Day this year is big, exciting and a bit bonkers – in my long time working in soap we’ve done warm and cosy Christmases and slightly crazy ones and I thought, let’s go with something big and cataclysmic," show boss Iain McLeod told Closer online earlier this month.
"There’s a ton of high octane action stuff but when we were designing the episode, we were conscious that there’s a certain expectation of a Corrie Christmas – a certain, feel, warmth and humour to it. It’s one of those episodes where you sit there on the edge of your seat – it’s so exciting and tense. Most importantly, it’s the culmination of a lot of really big stories."

Chaos on the cobbles will reach fever pitch when loan shark Gary Windass gains possession of an antique gun, which quickly falls into the wrong hands and leaves the street's residents fearing for their lives as a full scale shoot out breaks out at Michael Bailey's Weatherfield Wonderland.
"It's an antique firearm, so I'll leave you to infer how that might arrive on the Street," Iain said, of the controversial decision.
"I'm aware that the presence of firearms full-stop on Coronation Street is very controversial, so it wasn't a decision we took lightly.
"But it just felt that there was an interesting side-avenue to what Gary's been doing that hadn't really been explored yet."
