Have Coronation Street bosses taken a leaf out of the books of Dallas writers, and gone for the whole 'it was all a dream' scenario?

Well, not quite.

The villainous Richard Hillman (Brian Capron) brutally murdered his ex-wife Patricia and Maxine Peacock, not to mention tried to kill Emily Bishop and Gail Platt, as well as her two children Sarah-Louise and David.

So that makes him the perfect host for Horrornation Street.

Yup, Coronation Street's official tour has announced plans for special Halloween events which will celebrate the darker side of life on the cobbles.

The popular tourist attraction will be transformed into Horrornation Street between 27th and 31st October as some of the ITV soap's most grisly storylines are remembered.

Brian Capron, who played Hillman on the show between 2001 and 2003, will return to the cobbles to spook tourists.

Brian said: "I had some fantastic storylines during my time on Coronation Street. Richard was such a sinister and eerie character - I've certainly got some ghastly stories to share from his years of murderous crimes!"
