Coronation Street spoilers: Peter Barlow ‘finds’ Carla Connor

Desperate to regain Sarah's trust, Gary tells her that he's paid off all his debt and won't keep any more secrets from her.

Little does he know that Brian and Cathy have paid Rick a visit hoping to pay off Gary's remaining debt.

But they soon learn that Gary's debt is much larger that they thought, and realising Rick has his passport, worry for Gary's safety.

Later on, Seb finds a bruised and battered Gary alone at the builders yard, who explains that his van and tools have all been stolen.

Things go from bad to worse for Gary when Bethany tells him Sarah Louise regrets ever getting involved with him in the first place.

Meanwhile, Seb's own business starts to take off when Jenny sees his advert and hires him to fix the pub toilets.

Word of Seb's workmanship travels fast and soon he's employed by Rachel from a local salon to fix her toilets. When he arrives at the salon he meets nail technician, Alina.

The next day, Alina calls in at the Rovers the give Seb his forgotten spanner, and the two get chatting.

Their chemistry is evident and they decide to get some food at Speed Dahl, but when they run into Eileen and Jan flirting, an uncomfortable Alina makes her excuses and leaves.

As their friendship blossoms, Seb invites Alina back to his house where he tells her he's HIV positive, having contracted it from his first girlfriend. Alina is sympathetic and kisses him – is it love for Seb?

As Mary is loading flowers into the van at the florist, Jan cycles round the corner at speed and crashes into her.

When they realise that Jan has injured her wrist, he and Moira help Mary to a medical centre for her wrist to be looked at.

Later on, when Mary turns up at the pub with a strapped up wrist Jan offers to buy her a drink by way of apology, but Mary refuses.

Meanwhile, Jan gets acquainted with Mary's friend Moira, while a jealous Elaine looks on.

Tensions run high at baby Bertie's christening, where the warring Tinker and Barlow clans look on.

Ken Barlow is in a particularly bad mood as that morning he'd received a penalty charge notice for fouling.

It doesn't take long for the two families to start arguing over the dog poo, and chaos ensues as Beth Tinker hurls the first bit of food.

Desperate to calm everyone down, Kirk takes out his guitar and begins playing – will it do the trick?

High on the success of his first impromptu 'gig', Kirk discusses going on X Factor with Paul, who he suggests he play a few songs at Jenny and Johnny's St George's day party at the Rovers.

It's Beth who is the voice of reason, talking Kirk down by pointing out there's some stiff competition on TV talent shows, and suggesting he should be paid if he's to perform at the party.

Over at Number 5, Chesney is disappointed when Gemma says she's too ill to attend Bertie's christening. Left to her own devices, Gemma makes a fish pie to make up for it, but falls asleep and lets in burn.

When Chesney returns he suggests going for Fish and Chips but when Gemma says she's still too ill, Chesney accuses her of having a drinking problem and always being hungover.

Gemma decides that she's going to move out, and goes to see Rita to air her grievances. When Rita suggests that he illnesses might be down to something else, Gemma takes a pregnancy test and is shocked to see it's positive.

Gemma explains her situation to Chesney, who comes with her to the clinic. When the nurse tells them Gemma is 10 weeks along and will make a great mum, Gemma decides to keep the baby.

Meanwhile, Nick has called a meeting with Helen, the loss adjuster, who tells him that since the police haven't concluded their investigation, she's not in a position to discuss the pay out.

A frustrated Nick promises Helen he will keep in touch, while Toyah looks on, deeply suspicious.

Peter Barlow is at his wits' end as he continues to search for missing Carla. When Simon suggests using a picture of Carla to circulate on social media, using the hashtag #findcarla.

As the campaign spreads, Peter is overjoyed when someone claiming to know Carla's whereabouts gets in touch, promising to help in exchange for cash.

Ken wants to call the police but Peter insists on going to meet the man alone at a squat on Carla's old estate. When Peter is told by police that Carla's debit card was used to withdraw cash near the squat, Peter puts two and two together.

Roughing up the squatter, Johnny drags Peter off the man and Peter gives them his phone number before leaving.
