Viewers of Coronation Street have known for some time that Kylie Platt is going to be leaving the cobbles. However her exit is still being kept top secret, but there is speculation that she is going to be murdered..

Eep!

During Corrie’s live episode last year, viewers saw Kylie kill her ex Callum Logan (Sean Ward) after he was attacking her sister-in-law Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien). And ever since the murder Kylie, David Platt [Jack P Shepherd] and Sarah have been keeping the HUGE secret.

Paula announced her departure from the soap earlier this year on Twitter, writing: "So it’s official, I can now confirm I’m leaving Coronation Street this summer after a wonderful 5 years.

"It’s time to fly the nest…"

And she recently filmed her last scenes on the cobbles. Sob!

But now Paula - who is expecting her second child - has spoken for the first time since she decided to leave Coronation Street.

When Paula found out last year that she would be the one to kill Callum, she had a feeling that it may lead to a dramatic storyline:

"I did sort of think, 'This means something quite big now.'"

"I am more than happy with the exit and creatively I am excited to play it and see people’s reaction."

When discussing Kylie and David Platt, Paula said: "It is heartbreaking really because I could have seen them last a lifetime together."

The 30-year-old actress also confessed: "I have so many friends here and Jack really is great to work with, I love him to bits, it is going to be gut wrenching, it is safe to say the performances the viewers will be seeing will be real I think."

Paula also admitted that Kylie’s death is without a doubt one of the most shocking deaths in Corrie history, "I’m not just saying this because I’m involved but I don’t think I’ve ever read an ending like it.

"The audience are going to get a real sense of shock and surprise - how a sudden death is. They’re going to feel those emotions."

Paula also thinks that her characters death is the best way for Kylie to leave the soap: "The family now get a clear cut end. She’ll forever be in David’s heart obviously but one of the best ways for her to go is not by choice.

"David has to try and move on if she is dead whereas if she had been in prison or had run away he would always be waiting for her.

"It will be a long process but will give him some great drama."

And it looks like David could have some exciting storylines coming up too. Paula revealed that Kylie's death will "catapult him into a new lease of life. The way she goes will lead to so much for Jack to be able to play."

As for the future, Paula revealed that she would like to try some of ITV’s great dramas, a period drama, sci-fi or theatre.

So everyone should keep their eyes peeled.

Kylie’s leaving scenes will air Monday 11 July.
