Lucy Fallon who plays Bethany Platt has revealed things will get worse before it gets better

It is currently one of the most controversial storylines at the moment and viewers have witnessed Nathan Curtis slowly groom his "girlfriend" Bethany Platt but it seems the storyline will continue for another few months.

Coronation Street viewers have watched in horror as Bethany has fallen in love with Nathan but the feelings aren't mutual. The older guy has created a rift between Bethany and her family, he told his friend when Bethany is "ready" he'll let him get to know her better and in upcoming scenes Nathan will force the 16-year-old to sleep with one of his friends.

Actress, Lucy Fallon who plays Bethany has revealed the storyline will get a lot worse before it gets better and hinted that it will take a while for her character to see Nathan's true colours. She explained to The Metro: "There are worse things to come, particularly emotionally. I kind of know where it’s going.

"I have regular chats with Kate [Corrie's boss] about what’s going to happen because the content is quite horrid.

"She wants to keep me in the loop so that I’m happy. I know where it gets to, but not what happens afterwards. I know up to September."

September? We want Nathan to get his comeuppance now!

The 21-year-old actress also hinted that her character will start to suspect something's off with Nathan, she revealed: "From the point that she sleeps with Neil, she’s questioning why he would let her do that.

"There’s a scene where she says, 'You were supposed to love me, why would you be okay with me sleeping with someone else?' And he says, 'It turns me on when you’re with other men. It makes you more desirable when other men want you.’

"From that point, there are little things that make her think that this isn’t right. She isn’t stupid, but because his influence on her is so big, it outweighs her thoughts."

Oh Bethany, we hope you realise how dangerous he is soon.

It seems that we're not the only ones who are looking forward for Nathan to get his comeuppance, Lucy admitted: "I want to see him in prison. It’s important that we show people that if it’s happening to them, Nathan does go to prison.

"Otherwise they’ll think that there isn’t any point in telling anyone that this is happening to them because nothing will come of it."

Chris Harper, who plays Nathan, told Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on This Morning that Bethany sleeping with his friend Neil is just the tip of the iceberg in this story. He admitted: "She's going to be entering a very dark place and Nathan introducing his friend Neil is really just the beginning."

In scenes yet to come things take an even darker turn as Nathan asks Bethany to marry him – but what will she say?
