The cat well and truly escaped from the bag in Friday (February 24) night's double helping of Coronation Street. And when that cat got free, it was a hissing, biting, clawing force called Michelle Connor - who not only discovered that her hubby, Steve, had been unfaithful - but the unfaithfulness with Leanne Battersby had created a new life in baby Oliver. Corrie fans know that Michelle and Steve are grieving for the stillbirth of their own baby son,Ruairi, who they said a final goodbye to this week.
Steve revealed the closely guarded baby secret in Friday night's Corrie double-bill, when he inadvertently ended up holding Leanne's newborn son. As he gazed down at the cutie, he couldn't help but fall in love with him and declare himself as Oliver's real dad.
The repercussions were felt throughout the Street as Leanne tried to explain to Michelle why the truth had been kept from her. Michelle responded in a totes realistic way, with a bloody good right hook.
But there was no softening the blow for Michelle as she berated Leanne for being her friend while they shared pregnancies - and even saying she wished Oliver had died instead of Ruairi.
Rumours suggest that this spells the end for Steve and Michelle as she struggles to forgive him for his betrayal.
