Coronation Street actress Jane Danson has hit out at soap fans after she was criticised for her ‘pregnancy walk’.
The star found herself at the centre of a Twitter storm when viewers were left unimpressed with the way she walked with her apparent five-month baby bump.
Jane’s character Leanne Battersby is currently pregnant with Steve Mcdonald’s baby.
In a scene on Friday’s episode she was seen carrying shopping bags and viewers were not impressed by her acting.
She initially joked that “the bags were very heavy” but soon took things more seriously when she felt people were being too critical.
She tweeted: “Just surprised how nasty people get. I have been battered about the walk! I could explain but I’ll take it on the chin! Bit upset how nasty people got though.”
Meanwhile, Jane recently bravely opened up about losing a baby of her own a few years ago.
She said: “I kind of feel in a good place to say it, but I actually did lose a baby a couple of years ago, so it does make me quite sad.
“I’ve been asked the inevitable questions over and over, ‘Would you have another baby?’ and I just feel now it’s a good time to say that it is close to my heart but it’s Leanne going through it, not me.”
