Coronation Street’s David Platt could soon face a grisly end - pictures have emerged of the character lying in what seems to be a pool of blood.
David, played by Jack P. Shepherd, has hatched a revenge plot to murder his wife Kylie’s killer, and end his own life in the process.
His mother Gail attempts to put a stop to David’s horrific plans but, by the looks of the images obtained by the Sunday Mirror, it seems she may have failed.
Gail discovers a horrifying suicide video recorded by David for his family and she enlists the help of Sarah and Nick to imprison David in the local bistro cellar until Clayton’s murder trial ends.
But it seems David manages to harm himself in the room he’s locked in.
In the image, there appears to be a smashed bottle with a red liquid oozing on the floor next to a seemingly unconscious David, but it’s not clear if it’s wine or blood.
Actor Jack admitted filming the scenes were as harrowing as the storyline as there were live rats involved.
He told the newspaper: "David is desperate - he’s crawling through air vents to try and find a way of getting out and he’s not alone in the sewer pipes.
"The assistant producer texted me about future storylines a few months ago, saying, 'Everything’s going great by the way, loving your work blah blah blah, how are you with cockroaches?'
"I said I was fine with cockroaches, the more the merrier!
"Then I got a text saying, 'Couldn’t get cockroaches, they were too expensive, it’s rats now - enjoy!'"
