It will come as a shock but not a surprise to learn that Ben Price, aka Nick Tilsley, is leaving Coronation Street.

We'll be really quite sad to see him go, as he's been bloody brilliant from his very first day as Nick, but it's not surprising seeing as the love of his life is about to give birth to another man's baby.

Leanne, who thought she was infertile, got pregnant after a one night stand with her best pal Michelle's husband Steve. MESSY.

To make things even more complicated, Michelle doesn't know.

And to add an extra twist to the knife, Michelle just lost her baby in a very late miscarriage.

Like, come on Steve.

Ben's decision to leave comes just as the situation with Leanne and Nick is coming to a head. He keeps having fights with Leanne's ex-husband Peter Barlow, who is coincidentally having a secret love affair wth Leanne's sister, Toyah.

It sounds so complicated when you say it out loud.

But is he going to leave of his own accord? Come on now, this is Corrie - is he going to be forced out? Is he going to be KILLED off?! We can only speculate.

Anyway, Ben said: "Coronation Street has been the most significant part of my career and I have had a fantastic seven years here.

"The decision to leave is purely personal - I want to be able to spend more time with my family.

"I have been supported by a terrific cast and crew and have had the most glorious storylines and for that I am most grateful."

He also commutes to Manchester from London for work, where he lives with his wife Alexandra and two children Paloma, 10, and Max, seven.

Ben set up a production company in January 2015 - Bolo Films. He made a BAFTA-shortlisted short film in 2015, I'm Sorry to Tell You, which starred his ex-Corrie colleague, Ian Puleston-Davies, who played Owen Armstrong in the soap for five years.

We wish Ben all the best - but we're VERY keen to find out his exit storyline!
