A Coronation Street star has reportedly pulled out of filming scenes for the soap after returning home from holiday and deciding to self-isolate over Coronavirus fears.
The unnamed star isn’t showing any symptoms of the virus but has decided to take precautionary measures, just to be safe.
He reportedly has the full support of ITV, despite scriptwriters rushing to amend upcoming episodes to accommodate his absence.
Latest figures show there have been 116 confirmed cases of the COVID-19 in the UK, with 25 in London and a further ten in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales.
The Government and the NHS are advising people who’ve been exposed to the virus or are experiencing symptoms to “self-quarantine” by staying home from work, and to call the NHS helpline on 111.
And Corrie isn’t the only show on the box to be affected by the virus.
Earlier this week it was reported that The Only Way is Essex had cancelled filming of their summer special in Spain, instead seeking alternative locations.
