Coronation Street spoilers: Chesney Brown MUGGED

Sinead's lies about having chemo start to unravel, and those closest to her panic when she's told the cancer has spread and she needs chemo straight away. Desperate to help Sinead, Beth hunts down a specialist cancer clinic – but it's in Germany, and would cost thousands.

When Carla takes money from the safe, Beth notes the combination and her mind starts to whirr. She convinces Chesney to help her steal the money to pay for Sinead's treatment in Germany. All he has to do is lie and say he got mugged. . .

Chesney's torn following Beth's proposition, but when he sees how distraught Siobhan is after Steph's death, he agrees. He's in.

Beth wants to stage an authentic 'mugging' and tells Kirk he has to play the part. Wearing a balaclava, Kirk ambushes Chesney as he's collecting the shop's takings from Dev. Dev lays on a chase, but the 'robber' is too quick for him.

Sinead is touched when Beth and Chesney present her with the money, but she's suspicious of where it came from and doesn't believe that Chesney was mugged. She hands back the money to Dev, and claims she found it by the bins.

Later, Dev examines CCTV footage from the bin area and sees no sign of Beth or a mugger – what is she up to?

Deeply suspicious, Dev tells Chesney and Beth he's going to get the police involved to interrogate Sinead. But before he can do anything, Chesney takes the rap and says stealing the money was all his idea.

Jenny is suspicious when Liz asks if she can slip off for an hour, worried she's going to meet up with Johnny. She follows her using the phone tracking app she installed, and finds her snogging Mike outside the cab office.

Liz agrees to blow off plans with Eileen and meet Mike for dinner, and Jenny has an idea to drop her in it. When Eileen tells Jenny that Liz is ill, Jenny sends her on an errand to the bistro... knowing full well she'll catch Liz out in her lie.

Toyah is furious when Leanne tells her Nick is moving into the flat.

But when Leanne and Nick walk in on Toyah and Imran kissing on the sofa, they're both shocked – especially when Toyah drops the bombshell that Imran is also moving in.

Deciding that it's important for them to get along, Leanne orders all four of them to join her for dinner at the Bistro.

Nick admits that now he has to pay Elsa back the £40,000 of her inheritance that he used to buy Underworld, money is really tight.

In the end, he decides the only way he is going to be able to make the money back is to sell his beloved car for cash. When Imran offers to buy it off him for a knock down price, Nick is not impressed.

Brian's moment to shine is finally here. But when Phil watches the dress rehearsal he's unimpressed, and orders Brian to rewrite it by morning. Defeated and clearly stressed, Brian goes to make himself a cup of tea but suddenly faints, hitting his head on the coffee table as he collapses.

When Liam and Phil find him unconscious in the staff room, Phil shows no concern, only taunts him that he can't handle the stresses of the job. Cathy's horrified to hear from Maria about Brian's collapse but Brian plays it down.

At long last, Cathy convinces Brian to tell the head teacher that Phil is bullying him. Phil makes a heartfelt apology to Brian after being summoned to the headmistresses office, and Brian is confident things will now improve.

But Brian's caught of guard when Phil and the head come to oversee his class unannounced. Flustered and exhausted, Brian confides in Cathy that he may lose the job he loves so much.

After coming round to Kate's proposition, Robert tells Michelle he's secured a spot on a training course to get away for a few hours. But when the lights at the Bistro blow and Ryan calls the training college, they realise he's been lying to them.

Michelle confronts Robert and asks him where he's been. He tells her he just needed time to think – but really, he hates lying to her about fathering Kate and Rana's baby.

Meanwhile, Michelle has been having counselling sessions to help her face her past. Maybe she'll change her mind about having a baby of their own?

Robert arrives at the clinic to meet Kate for their appointment. After their session, Robert announces to Kate that he wishes to go ahead with their plan and they both know they need to tell Michelle and Rana.

But Michelle has made a huge decision. When she tells Robert she's ready to try for a baby of their own, he regrets the commitment he's made to Kate. As Kate waits to speak to Rana at the medical centre, will Robert reach her before she tells Rana their plans?
