Closer’s CBB columnist Nicola McLean: ‘I’m not surprised Ken has been removed – his age is no excuse for his comments’

"I couldn't wait to see the aftermath from the night before. I can't believe the dramas that have unfolded in just the first three days! I thought surely it's going to be quiet tonight…

How wrong I was?! Firstly, I've decided that I can not stand Perez. He is the most self absorbed the person ever. Following a task where the housemate's 'fairytales' were read out, Perez seemed outraged at the revelation that Katie's husband was married when they met, and wouldn’t drop it.

Now, obviously I think sh*gging a married man is the lowest of the low, so Perez is entitled to air his opinion, but he should have said it and moved on. Not Perez though: he was like a dog with a bone, demanding to know if Katie thought it was wrong to sleep with a married man.

The housemates had just had a great time doing their task and he ruined it by making them all really cross! I don't know what's going on with Perez but he seems over emotional, crying all the time. He will definitely be put up for eviction next.

I'm not at all surprised to hear that Ken has been removed from the house – if I was in there with him, I'd want to kill him, and his comments to Alexander were inexcusable. A lot of people on twitter seemed to be saying, 'oh but he's an old man and doesn't realise’.

However I would argue that Ken is an actor who is used to working with people from all generations and walks of life, he isn't some lonely pensioner who never left their house until entering the CBB house.

Calum handled Ken's intrusive comments well

Are you telling me that he would behave like that on the Corrie set and not end up getting he sack? I don't think so, he would be straight out. Ken knew he was behaving badly and it showed when he tried to claim that he was "too p*ssed" to remember how he had offended most of his housemates, but to be honest I don't think he cares anyway.

I was horrified when he asked Calum how much of his inheritance he has ‘blown on hair transplants' – the man has no filter and that was unbelievably rude and tactless. Calum's response was brilliant, saying that the only inheritance he got was his 'lovely name and a great legacy’. I felt so sorry for Calum as Ken asked the question, but Calum really handled it like a gentleman.

Although he hasn't been involved in too much action in the house, I have to give credit to Alexander for how calm he kept with Ken and I loved how he spoke in the diary room and explained that he would rather educate someone than basically go mad at them.

Well Alexander tried his best to educate him and to be fair, Nadia and Patsy also tried to explain to Ken that his comments were out of order. But clearly Ken felt he was above the law of the CBB house and continued to offend, now he has paid the price and rightly so. Good riddance to bad rubbish. This is surely the first year two celebs have been removed within the first week?

Michelle Visage is the most amazing housemate, she is so smart and straight talking. I laughed out loud when she told Perez to shut up and said no one cares about what he says, she's absolutely right there, he almost makes me want to turn over!!

Alica Douvall actually seems like a nice girl, it's a shame she was so insecure that she had all that work done and ruined her face, bless her. She and Katie seem to get on well – an unlikely friendship, but unexpected friendships forming is one of the many great things about Big Brother."
