Disney have been busy updating their classic films for some time now, bringing us live-action versions of Cinderella, 101 Dalmatians, Maleficent, Beauty & The Beast, Alice In Wonderland, and plenty more besides.
So it makes sense that they've planned to transform another of our childhood favourites into a live-action piece.
Although we imagine they might just need a magic feather (that was a hint, by the way) to pull this one off…
Yup, it's Dumbo!
Disney have asked none other than Tim Burton (Nightmare Before Christmas / Edward Scissorhands) to take on the tale of that super-sweet baby circus elephant who is made fun of for his large ears.
So we presume that means that the 1941 story might get a bit of a unique Burton-esque twist to it along the way…
On THAT note, Walt Disney Pictures' president of production Sean Bailey, when asked about the story of the new Dumbo film, would only say that “It’s a big world”.
This seems a big hint that the story will be a LOT broader than the original tale - we wonder where little Dumbo might be zooming off to this time around?
Throw in the fact that a family story will be added to reflect the little elephant's journey and you have a recipe for cinematic joy - we hope.
Are you excited to see Dumbo on the big screen? Or do you think the classic is perfect and doesn't need an update?
