Following on from the events of Disaster Week – which saw Debbie Dingle’s affair with brother-in-law Ross Barton exposed, and the death of Val Pollard – producer Kate Oates has insisted there are more shocks in store for fans.
Speaking to the Radio Times, Kate said: “It’s going to be a very emotional Christmas. There won’t be whistles and bangs. It will all be very heartfelt.
“I think that’s right for us because we’ve had such a stunt-led summer and it’s good to bring it down to grassroots.”
Here’s what you can expect to see over the coming weeks:
Charity Tate is coming back and, with all the drama Ross has been going through, she’s probably the last person he wants to see.
He’s been busy working on his relationship with Debbie and getting revenge on Pete, as well as spending time with son Moses. Ross hasn’t seen Charity since she told him he Moses’ dad – and something tells us it’s going to be explosive…
Elsewhere, there are tough times ahead for Chas and Aaron. While details are being kept firmly under wraps, it’s been reported that the events could have a life-changing impact on both of them.
Charity’s coming back, and Debbie’s on her way out: could the two be linked? Charley Webb, who plays Debbie, is going on maternity leave so the character will have to be written out for a while.
The question is, will she be leaving the village alone?
