The chemistry levels went through the roof when Chris Hemsworth locked lips with Natalie Portman at the end of the credits on Thor: The Dark World. We put that down to his incredible acting skills - but, as it turns out, he wasn't acting at all.

… because he was kissing his real-life wife Elsa Pataky!

Natalie Portman revealed the secret behind the passionate kissing scene between her character and Chris Hemsworth shown at the end of Thor: The Dark World, explaining that, due to a scheduling conflict she couldn’t reprise her role as Thor’s mortal girlfriend in time to film the scene.

So a special stunt double filled in - Hemsworth's stunning wife, Fast & Furious 6 actress Elsa.

“It was for reshoots (after the film was finished) and he was working in Hong Kong and I couldn't get there because I was working on my own film,” Natalie told the NY Daily News.

“And so they put his wife in my wig and costume. That's why it was so passionate.”

Elsa, who has been married to the Thor actor since 2010 and is now pregnant with their second child, had been traveling with her demi-God and their daughter India at the time anyway.

With a few clever camera angles and lighting tricks, moviegoers were none the wiser.
