The room and arena auditions are over and it's time for this year's X Factor hopefuls to face bootcamp.

This means the return of the dramatic six-chair challenge and, if this preview clip is anything to go by, it's not just the contestants feeling the pressure.

Cheryl, Mel B, Simon Cowell and Louis all have to decide who they want to take through to judge's houses by giving those auditioning one of the six-chairs in each category.

But that doesn't mean they're safe. Once the six chairs are full, the judges must continue to switch the acts in and out until all them have been seen. Once they lose their chair, there's no getting it back.

This clip shows just how much pressure the judges are under. At one point, the audience turns against Cheryl and she is badly booed – causing her to tell Simon 'I've made such a big mistake.'

She buries her head in her hands, looking very close to tears, as Louis tells the team 'Let's get out of here'.

While even Scary Spice Mel B look like she's feeling the heat, it doesn't stop her dishing out her frank advice.

Mel tells one act: "I'm gonna tell you again, you can't sing another song. Get off."

It's going to be dramatic – and we can't wait!

The X Factor is on ITV tonight at 8pm.
