Zoe has been one of Casualty’s best loved characters through the time Sunetra has been on the BBC One show.
But in the most recent episode, fans were left a little lost for words after Zoe exited with no BBC announcement.
Zoe had confided in friend Connie (Amanda Mealing) in recent episodes that she was considering leaving to take on a new job opportunity, but no one thought she would actually leave.
So it came as something of a shock to fans when, in Saturday’s episode, Zoe was seen leaving the hospital and getting into a taxi to leave. For good.
Eep!
Sunetra soon took to Twitter to confirm her exit and to thank fans, saying: “So that’s it guys. Goodbye from Zoe – it’s been a privilege and a pleasure.
"Thanks all the crew, cast and wonderful fans. Over&out.”
And fans were left devastated that the Casualty actor made her departure…
Sunetra has had several big storylines on the BBC drama, including an affair with a married man, discovering she was infertile and planning to adopt the daughter of a dead friend.
The 42 year old has been in the spotlight for some time now, as she’s appeared in other shows before Casualty like Brookside, Cold Feet, Emmerdale and Holby City.
To mark the end of her long run on the show, Sunetra took to Twitter for a Q&A session with fans.
One fan asked if Sunetra thought things could have turned out differently for her character is she did have the ability to have children.
Sunetra replied: “I'm sure a lot would have changed. She would prob have stayed with Jordan”.
And one Twitter user asked about a possible return for Zoe, however it doesn't look likely as Sunetra replied: “Not for the foreseeable future. I’ve only just left!"
