It’s only been a few weeks since it kicked off on ITV, but Britain’s Got Talent 2016 has already been hit with more controversies than you can shake a stick at.

We’ve already seen 12-year-old Beau Dermott accused of being a ‘cheat’ because she’d attended singing lessons and taken part in vocal competitions before appearing on BGT.

And then there was impressionist Craig Ball, who left viewers absolutely blown away with his take on Family Guy, Scooby Doo, Christopher Walken, Mickey Mouse, and more.

Until it was reported that he’d been asked to audition on the show by BGT talent scouts, that is.

And now people have turned on show favourite Colin Henry.

Why?

Well, for lying about his Guinness World Record, apparently.

Let’s look back, shall we?

Colin stunned the audience with his abilities in tinkling the ivories, and later told the judges: ”Even now, people are still gobsmacked when they see it.

"I've even got the world record for playing the piano upside down."

And Colin's claims were previously included in the show's official pre-show information pack, which read: "Colin taught himself to play the piano and holds a Guinness World Record for longest time spent playing the piano upside down."

However, officials have now confirmed that the record does not exist and is not verified by the organisation.

After checking into several other record books, they have yet to track down evidence to support Colin’s big claims.

And it seems as if BGT bosses are extremely unhappy about the situation, with a source telling The Sun: "Producers can't believe Colin's talk of a world record doesn't stack up.

"He's such a loved individual on the show that it was really unexpected - especially after he'd told everyone before auditioning and they subsequently made it public."

We wonder if maybe Colin was just employing a little bit of hyperbole when he was discussing his talent - you know, like how some people claim to hold the world record in eating creme eggs, or sales shopping?

Either way, we guess it remains to be seen whether or not this will have an effect on his chances of winning.

Britain's Got Talent continues on Saturday on ITV1 at 8pm.
