It’s been eleven years since we last saw Bridget Jones on our screens.
In Bridget Jones’ Diary: The Edge Of Reason, we saw her arrested for drug trafficking inT hail and, before being swiftly reunited with the love of her life, Mr Mark Darcy.
Who, of course, proposed to our beloved Bridge.
Now, over a decade later, Renée Zellweger is reprising her role as a modern-day Bridget Jones.
And, judging by the latest photos of her on set, it seems as if the title of the third film, Bridget Jones’ Baby, was a lot more literal than we first thought.
Yup, Bridge is preggers!
In the shots - which were taken during filming in Woolwich, London - Bridget can be seen hitting her local branch of Sainsbury’s.
Qe love that she’s chosen to dress up her baby bump with a faux fur jacket; it couldn’t be more Bridget, could it?
Bridget Jones’s Baby, which hits cinemas in September 2016, won’t follow the plot of the books, which -- SPOILER ALERT! -- killed off Colin Firth’s character, Mark Darcy.
Thank goodness, eh?
Colin Firth will be back as Bridget’s husband for this outing too, while Patrick Dempsey will be joining the franchise as a yet unknown character.
He’s presumably set to pick up the reigns from Hugh Grant as the film’s resident love rival / lothario, as Bridge’s ex-boyfriend Daniel Cleaver has NOT been written into the script.
He recently explained: “I decided not to do it, but I think they're going to go ahead and do it without Daniel.”
“The book's excellent, by the way, but the script is completely different,” he continued.
“Well, the script as I last saw it a few years ago."
